Wal-Mart needs to stay on the ball…

I’ve been to a dozen Wallyworlds in the last year or so all over the country and they are in deep doo. Same junk every year, no service, and always out of what you want…..granted some stores are better than others but…come on people!

I’ve gone in and NOT a single person said hi or can I help you…the kiss of death. No one seems to want to be there and they don’t act like they want you there.

Reminds me of K-Mart…..

Check out this article....

Shoppers can expect fewer and smaller stores in the future as more people shop online.

Get ready for the next era in retail — one that will be characterized by far fewer shops and smaller stores.

On Tuesday, Sears said that it will shutter its flagship store in downtown Chicago in April. It's the latest of about 300 store closures in the U.S. that Sears has made since 2010. The news follows announcements earlier this month of multiple store closings from major department stores J.C. Penney and Macy's.

Experts said these headlines are only the tip of the iceberg for the industry, which is set to undergo a multiyear period of shuttering stores and trimming square footage.

Shoppers will likely see an average decrease in overall retail square footage of between one-third and one-half within the next five to 10 years, as a shift to e-commerce brings with it fewer mall visits and a lesser need to keep inventory stocked in-store, said Michael Burden, a principal with Excess Space Retail Services.

"I believe we're going to hear a lot more announcements in the coming months," Burden said. It's "an indication that there is a shift in the retail environment and it's one that will continue."

Old Muffin looking good….

Had to get the old camera out. I am getting to know my way around with it but it’s pretty complicated doing it right….but can’t complain on these shots:

Muffin

Night-RV

Muffin looks good even shaved. She photographs well unlike some geezers I know….

This RV is my neighbor and was shot at 8:30 or so at night….Need to work on this as it is to grainy in the sky. Have to figure out how to fix it. Still, I think it’s pretty cool..

Anyways, staying busy on retirement as I always have something to do. Mostly learning photography, Photoshop and Lightroom. Next will be astrophotography as soon as my moon lens gets here..Which means I’ll be headed for Arizona by March 1st so I can practice shooting without city lights and can get out the old Goldbug gold detector…..

Another controversy this time on Townhall.com

I couldn’t resist putting my two cents in. My big thing when we took out Hussein that it was a good idea. We put him charge and gave him billions to keep the peace and he went off on tangents..But, perpetual war is NUTS!!!…

Here’s my post:

Our wars have simply pointed out to the world that we are not the good guys. We murder their women and children they drive our airplanes into buildings. We pick and pay  dictators to rule them they riot and kill our citizens in embassies. We send troops to bring stability to their neighborhoods they blow our kid's bodies to pieces...(we would have been further ahead just drop the blood money from helicopters onto their streets)

Eventually, like 'Nam, we'll turn tail and leave. Anyone on our side will pay and the pentagon will have to think of some other way to justify their billions....The rest of us will rehabilitate the cripples and try to find a way of stealing their VA benefits. Not to leave out, robbing your Social Security check to pay for it! (yes they will try...)

But, remember this ....people without anything have nothing to lose except their God and dignity. Strapping a bomb on their backs or cutting your throat with a broken bottle is easy. They out number us by the millions.....They hate your guts!!

Hawks Pull Through…..

I usually follow the team with the best defense. I did tell my brother that the 9’ers would regret not getting that touchdown on the Wilson fumble……every point counts against Seattle. Their biggest loss this season was by 7 points. the rest were by 3 or less.

Pretty day here as Muffin and I plan our trip to Arizona and then home to Idaho in May..I would like to leave the trailer here on it’s own lot for next winter but then I would need something in Idaho to stay in…

I can’t move back into Patti’s trailer even though it’s paid for as the memories are too intense….Decisions decisions decisions…..

Bert, his brother in law and I are going on a cruise ship for the weekend  the 31’st. Should be fun…. at least we get to eat all you want so what’s not to like! Muffin stays at Bert’s and will probably put on another pound…..at least her medicine has her epilepsy under control with only a minor bout this last month…

Another day in Paradise….(colder than Hell)

Woke up to frost. What the hell is that doing here. Actually, all week we have been suffering with 50’s and 60’s…30’s at dawn….

But, should be back to 70 in another week….

In the meantime, my fingers are crossed for the Hawks. Hopefully they get some offense to go along with the big  “D”.

By the way, just why is it that you have to show ID to by a beer, get on a plane, or cross the American border, but not to vote?

I guess the government feels that it’s none of our business or it doesn’t matter!!!! (I see dead people, lol)

Big discussion on Global Warming not on TV…

The media only talks about things that the audience wants to hear. They do have viewers for global warming and Creationism but no wants to hear these discussed as one side or the other considers these topics ridiculous.

Now, personally, I would watch naked hot meteorologists debate anything they want. (Do Christian women take their clothes off? Count me in!) .

Bringing us up to date….

Congress is going to pass a 1.1 trillion dollar budget. Restoring the cuts in military spending that SLOWED the economy and screwed the Republican campaign contributors….Still, the tax INCREASES on the working stiff are still there..

The economy is rolling and will now pick up steam as confidence is being restored that the Republicans won’t destroy the economy with cuts in a depression (you cut the spending in a boom to kill inflation).

I expect to see some new faces in Congress as the T-Party knocks out some Republicans and a few  Democrats….but nothing major..Incumbency in gerrymandered districts is pretty much guaranteed if the candidate survives the primary…

On the presidential race, the Dems are desperate to knock off Christie so expect a lot of attacks. Hilary will be pretty much glossed over except for books and movies telling us how wonderful Her Majesty is. We also are getting exoneration for her part in Benghazi. A shameful act but one which the political appointees could do nothing about it…

At this time, money is on her, but she has to reach to the far left and remind them she is not a right-winger…I would ask Senator Warren to be V.P.

Christie is the only one that stands a chance of beating her, hence the all out assault on him..He can raise a billion dollars and would be a Hell of a lot of fun on the campaign trail….Hillary by 3 points..

My prediction of the boom in the economy   will begin to be recognized this year and 2015 will be gangbusters…Only a Republican shut down could have slowed it and they lost the argument ( or nuke could stop it!)….most of the bank caused housing problems are gone or under control and the Fed will still buy up the rest of the junk mortgages…

Muffin and I are getting nomad fever and may just tour the country any minute now but what else is new….

Seahawks rule thanks to a defense that won’t quit … and “the beast”

An update on the economy….

Boom baby boom. We are virtually energy independent and will go into the 2015 presidential election year a roaring. (for the first time in decades we are exporting oil.

)No, repeat, no inflation and less than 6 unemployment……

Read this from Reuters because the “experts” (the ones who missed the depression), are troubled by the lack of inflation (not price gouging at the gas pump)….

Hey experts, Bernanke, and now Yellen and crew, control interest and inflation and it is too low….Told you so, nya nya…

It’s a tax increase last January on the working stiff and cuts to the Pentagon that have slowed the economy but the Republicans will surrender to get reelected and the deficit disappears as I have said all along because it’s all about jobs and  ..BOOM!

Reuters news:

"Because inflation surprised to the downside in 2013, it remains a wild card for the Committee in 2014," St. Louis Fed President James Bullard said on Friday, nevertheless forecasting it will edge up to about 1.6 percent this year.

Yellen, in her only interview since she was confirmed Monday, signaled she agrees with that take.

"The recovery has been frustratingly slow, but we're making progress in getting people back to work, and I anticipate that inflation will move back toward our longer-run goal of 2 percent," Yellen told Time Magazine on Monday, the day her nomination to the Fed chair received final Senate approval.

Less than a Year Ago I told everyone Here….

The economy will boom in 6 months to a year…

Read  this article and remember my post that Bernanke, among others, is worried we we wont be able to finance the growth because of Republican’s religious belief that deficit spending is a negative thing in our economy:

WASHINGTON — The capital may be enduring a brief spell of record-low temperatures this week, but the federal deficit continues to melt away.

According to the latest figures from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, the red ink for the first quarter of fiscal 2014, which began Oct. 1, dropped by almost 40% compared with the same period a year earlier.

The deficit has gone down so much that the federal government actually ran a surplus for December — a one-time occurrence that resulted from some special circumstances but still an indicator of the rapidly improving state of the government’s finances.

Indeed, many prominent economists, including outgoing Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, have suggested that the deficit is now coming down too fast.

At a news conference last month, Bernanke said fiscal policy had been too tight recently — central bank jargon for suggesting that with the economy still operating below capacity, a somewhat higher deficit over the next year would help, not hurt.

The magnitude of the change is striking. For October to December 2012, the government ran a deficit of $293 billion. By the last three months of 2013, the deficit had shrunk by $111 billion, to $182 billion.

An improving economy and tax increases that took effect in 2013 both pushed revenues higher and accounted for about 40% of the improvement; spending reductions accounted for the rest. A chunk of the improvement involved one-time events, but most of the change represents a real, long-term shift in the government’s finances.

Assuming the economy continues to grow at its current rate or perhaps a bit faster, as most economists forecast, the deficit will continue to decline through the rest of the current fiscal year.

I Found Another Famous Economist to Agree With……

Bernanke finally opens his mouth and tells everyone that cutting spending during depressions is…….stupid!

And, the only people with tax increases by Republicans were people who work for a living and then  they voted to rip off retirees…Who votes for these people?

In his final speech as Fed Chair, Ben Bernanke identifies the No. 1 thing that's caused the economy to be so slow: not enough government spending. He specifically calls fiscal policy "excessively tight."

To this list of reasons for the slow recovery--the effects of the financial crisis, problems in the housing and mortgage markets, weaker-than-expected productivity growth, and events in Europe and elsewhere--I would add one more significant factor--namely, fiscal policy. Federal fiscal policy was expansionary in 2009 and 2010. Since that time, however, federal fiscal policy has turned quite restrictive; according to the Congressional Budget Office, tax increases and spending cuts likely lowered output growth in 2013 by as much as 1-1/2 percentage points. In addition, throughout much of the recovery, state and local government budgets have been highly contractionary, reflecting their adjustment to sharply declining tax revenues. To illustrate the extent of fiscal tightness, at the current point in the recovery from the 2001 recession, employment at all levels of government had increased by nearly 600,000 workers; in contrast, in the current recovery, government employment has declined by more than 700,000 jobs, a net difference of more than 1.3 million jobs.

More fear mongering about Social Security..

Wall Street is bound and determined to get their hands on your money…like your home equity…how did that work out for  you?

I found this on Townhall about minorities not getting their checks from Social Security and had to comment:

All we have to do is give our Social Security money to the guys on Wall Street and everything will be wonderful.....yeah, right!
System has been running surpluses for 60 years and no stopping it unless you vote to give your money away. I've heard the same thing for 40 years or so and, as usual, like global warming, coming ice age, we will all starve to death by 1975, aids will kill us all, the Martians are coming, the Commies will nuke us into the stone age, the Vietnamese are going to invade New York in their Sampans, we will be out of oil and all die by the year 2000( if the y2k bug doesn't do us in first) blah blah blah...nonsense piled on top of nonsense...
An economy of 17 trillion dollars (that we can count because trillions are underground) going broke and not not paying it's bills is silly fear mongering....
Worried about Social Security....have everybody pay into for all their income and we can increase benefits!!!!

But, go ahead and vote for politicians who preach steal from the poor and you will be out of power for the rest of your lives....ask the Libertarians ....
