Aren't you glad this is the best they got.

Pathetic!

Campaign For Liberty — Is John Boehner a Role Model for Republicans?    by Laurence M. Vance
Although I have nothing but contempt for outgoing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, I just can't seem to get excited about House Republican John Boehner being the next Speaker of the House.

Boehner has represented Ohio's eighth congressional district since 1991. After serving as House Republican Conference Chairman, House Committee on Education and the Workforce Chairman, and House Majority Leader, he was chosen to be House Minority Leader in 2007.

Although he claims he never took an earmark, Boehner is a symbol of everything that is wrong with the Republican Party. He talks a good talk when the Democrats are in control or it is time for an election.

Here are Boehner's words when he called into the Sean Hannity Radio Show during its third hour on October 27th: "And if in fact we're elected to the majority you're going to see us cut spending. You're going to see us revive the economy and reform the way Congress does it job."

On Hannity's October 4th television show, Boehner promised that if the Republicans took over the House in the midterm election they would "cut spending" and "repeal health care." He said that Republicans have learned their lesson and if put back in charge they are "going to fight for a smaller, less costly and more accountable government." Boehner further insisted that there would be no tax increases, no cap and trade, and no increases in spending. He also promised that the Republicans would do everything they could to "stop the health care bill."

In the weekly Republican address given by Boehner on October 30th, he reiterated: "Together, we can do these things. And in doing so, we can begin the drive for a smaller, less costly, and more accountable government that honors our Constitution and respects the will of the people."

It is indeed strange to hear this libertarian rhetoric come out of the mouth of Mr. Boehner.
