Think there is a nickles difference between the candidates?...

Here's a lefty who agrees with me. The right-left dialogue for the most part is a scam. Nothing will change as far as the gang who owns our government is concerned.

Representative Ryan’s Far-Right Agenda: The Media Can’t Take the Truth | NationofChange

First, in spite of all the name-calling about President Obama being a Kenyan socialist, he has pushed an agenda that most Republicans would have been comfortable with 20 years ago. His health care plan was put forward by the conservative Heritage Foundation in 1992, before Governor Romney put it in place in Massachusetts. His Wall Street reform leaves the too-big-to-fail banks bigger than ever, even after they helped to inflate a housing bubble, the collapse of which brought the economy to its knees. And, running large deficits in a downturn was a practice that Obama could tie to Presidents Nixon, Ford, Reagan, and both Bushes. It would be difficult to find a policy pushed by our Kenyan socialist president that would make a Nixon Republican unhappy.   By contrast, Representative Ryan has an extreme right-wing agenda that predates both Great Society and the New Deal. He has put forward plans that would cut and privatize both Social Security and Medicare. He has also called for essentially zeroing out most categories of federal spending.

Everything at the mobile in Bonners is for sale and should get enough to cover my debts.

If not, the banks can eat shit and die!!!!

This is news...

A big shot in Washington not prosecuted?  Wow what next, the president keepinfg his job after committing a felony? (Right Bill?)

Not in our government, right?

Guest Post: Assange Or Corzine? | ZeroHedge

Priorities are a bitch. The United States won’t prosecute Corzine for raiding segregated customer accounts, but will happily convene a Grand Jury in preparation for prosecuting Julian Assange for exposing the truth about war crimes. From the New York Times: A criminal investigation into the collapse of the brokerage firm MF Global and the disappearance of about $1 billion in customer money is now heading into its final stage without charges expected against any top executives. After 10 months of stitching together evidence on the firm’s demise, criminal investigators are concluding that chaos and porous risk controls at the firm, rather than fraud, allowed the money to disappear, according to people involved in the case.

More scare mongering from people with too much free time......

Should we tell him? We geezers will just have to spend every dime and not bury the money in the back yard. DUH!!!
You'll hear a lot of this bullshit because it makes people vote and spend their money on these silly people.

We have to remember that all money spent creates jobs, At Walmart, Micky D's, RV parks, gas stations, real estate offices, Dr's offices, political parties, etc etc.

These people will say anything to get your check? (Somebody should remind them that it's our money and we have a vote and guns.)

There is no problem with SS if the politicians would just leave the taxes alone! If the so called fund gets short add a couple of bucks to it and leave our money alone.

Bottom line? We need to get our jobs back the assholes in Washington sent to China and Mexico and this chicken little shit goes away with a revival of the middle class.

But that wouldn't be good for votes, would it? And who would give them money to scare the fuck out of us because Washington wants your retirement sitting on Wall Street greasing the gang's palms who are screwing over us and our so democratic called government.

Read this guy's article and you will see. About as silly as the Viet Cong invading Manhattan in their sampans!!!

America's Demographic Cliff: The Real Issue In The Coming, And All Future Presidential Elections | ZeroHedge

The stronger turnout of these voters, and their sheer numbers, are also likely to have an important impact on US political races in the years to come. They’re going to be the biggest voting bloc in American history, if patterns hold: 68% of them is almost 52 million, larger than the entire Black/African American voter population, for example. And like other older generations, according to a study by the Pew Research Center done in late 2011, Boomers have become slightly more conservative as they’ve aged, and slightly more of them (45% vs. 51%) intend to vote for Governor Romney in the upcoming election. However, given that one of their main concerns is the maintenance of entitlement spending, it seems unlikely that Boomers will continue to support a party that recommends reducing the deficit by cutting entitlements. All candidates, then, and especially the GOP, will need to take a hard look at the wants and needs of the Boomers. The 2012

What happens when you run out of these stupid guys?.....

Does the gang in D.C. really believe this shit? Unarmed guards acting as bullet absorbers? HELLO anybody in there? And how much do you pay these nitwits?

You can't make this shit up? Trust me.

Ready? The shooter had Chick Filet sandwichs in his back pack!!!!

No wonder! The screw ball was looking to waste homosexuals and the stupid guard got in his way. Of course, now the taxpayers have got to feed, clothe, and medicate this asshole for 30 or 40 years so I suppose not having a gun handy to blow the dip shit to Hell was good for the unemployment situation in town, right?

Did I not tell you you can't make this shit up? Read the whole article and go out and buy a gun because these dumb asses are headed for you.

MILLER: Body blocking bullets - Washington Times

An unarmed security guard thwarted a gunman in Washington on Wednesday using nothing but his body - and that’s just what D.C. officials want. Mayor Vincent C. Gray cited Leonardo Johnson’s being shot in the arm while protecting coworkers at the Family Research Council (FRC) as proof the capital city’s restrictive gun laws are effective. It’s dangerous to think unarmed guards are always going to be able to protect the innocent from determined criminals. On Thursday, the mayor told NewsChannel 8’s Bruce DePuyt that he is “proud of the gun laws we have here in the District of Columbia,” which he called “the most stringent, restrictive” in the country.

Jesus...What can we blame for all the climate change?....

Going to have to blame the Chinese or the boogy man. At least we can bomb the Chinese, right? Next thing you know the "climate" scientists will be predicting a new ice age.......Wait been there done that!!!!

Use of natural gas credited for drop in CO2 emissions - Washington Times

In a surprising turnaround, the amount of carbon dioxide being released into the atmosphere in the U.S. has fallen dramatically, to its lowest level in 20 years, and government officials say the biggest reason is that cheap and plentiful natural gas has led many power-plant operators to switch from dirtier-burning coal. Many of the world’s leading climate scientists didn’t see the drop coming, in large part because it happened as a result of market forces rather than direct government action against carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas that traps heat in the atmosphere.

The Coming American Dictatorship revisited by John Silveira Issue #77

“It’s been that way throughout all of history. The biggest enemy of mankind has not been foreign invaders, or terrorists, or serial killers, or muggers on the street. The most dangerous threat to humanity is almost always our own governments. Hitler killed million of Germans including German Jews. Stalin oversaw the deaths of 20 to 80 million Soviet citizens, Mao another 60 million in China. The Khmer Rouge of Cambodia killed 3 million Cambodians, and who knows how many people Idi Amin killed in Uganda? These aren’t isolated cases. All throughout history the primary killer of people has always been their own kind. Governments have been responsible for more deaths to the governed than war or plague. And the people who are most likely to deprive you of your rights and freedoms are your own government. Terrorists aren’t going to suspend your rights to free speech, the press, the right to bear arms, or jury trials. Neither are Colombian drug lords nor muggers. It’s John Ashcroft, Charles Schumer, George Bush, Tom Daschle, and their kind who will do it.

As I've been saying....

The world is awash in American money and eventually it will all come home. When it does we boom until the next bust. But with the Dems threatening to take it the money away through taxation it ain't gonna happen aytime too soon.

Troubles Abroad Keep Cash Flowing to U.S. - WSJ.com

Fears the U.S. will go over the "fiscal cliff" at the end of the year suggest not much has changed in Washington since the debt-ceiling battle hit the struggling economy a year ago. Also unchanged: Investors still appear convinced that the U.S. is the safest of borrowers, despite rising angst about government debt around the world. Why is Treasury debt still seen as one of the world's safest assets? The U.S. "effectively got a pass," said Tom Porcelli, chief U.S. economist at RBC Capital Markets. "If you needed to fly into the safety of a country, the U.S. was the best of the worst." How long this will last depends how long it takes the global backdrop to improve. Enlarge Image The U.S., despite losing its coveted triple-A debt rating from Standard & Poor's last August, remains a magnet for money fleeing the globe's trouble spots. As Europe's debt crisis rages, turmoil in Greece, Spain or Italy sends investors rushing into the safe arms of the U.S. government.

Friday Humor: Olympics Edition | ZeroHedge

Sometimes, some things are best left unsaid: Weightlifting commentator: "This is Gregoriava from Bulgaria. I saw her snatch this morning during her warm up and it was amazing."

Dressage commentator: "This is really a lovely horse and I speak from personal experience since I once mounted her mother."

Boxing Analyst: "Sure there have been injuries, and even some deaths in boxing, but none of them really that serious."

Softball announcer: "If history repeats itself, I should think we can expect the same thing again."

Basketball analyst: "He dribbles a lot and the opposition doesn't like it. In fact you can see it all over their faces."

At the rowing medal ceremony: "Ah, isn't that nice, the wife of the IOC president is hugging the cox of the British crew."

Soccer commentator: "Julian Dicks is everywhere. It's like they've got eleven Dicks on the field."

Tennis commentator: "One of the reasons Andy is playing so well is that, before the final round, his wife takes out his balls and kisses them . . . Oh my God, what have I just said?"

And finally, Obama calls Phelps: "Congratulations Michael, but remember you didn't win all those medals, someone else did. After all, you swam in public pools, built by state employees using tax dollars. You got training from the USOC, and ate food grown by the Department of Agriculture. You should play fair and share your medals with the people who can barely keep their head above water, let alone swim."

Oh yeah, they don't investigate the elite. Forgot. Just ask Oba mama's cheats, right?

The ‘Missing Evidence’ in Romney’s Tax Records | NationofChange

Harry Reid has provoked outrage among liberals as well as conservatives, who seem to believe he has violated propriety by repeating gossip about Mitt Romney's taxes. The Senate leader says someone connected with Romney told him that the Republican candidate paid no income taxes for a period of 10 years. Offended by Reid's audacity, commentators on the right have indicted him for "McCarthyism," while others on the left have accused him of inventing the whole story. Evidently the chief complaint against Reid — aside from aggressiveness unbecoming a Democrat — is that he cited "an extremely credible source" who he has so far declined to name. Some journalists have gone so far as to suggest that Reid must be lying because he won't identify the source.

Thank the Gods for the nuke, baby....

I love the sound of the crazy left whinning in the morning. Boo hoo the Japs had to surrender because we cheated and killed too many all at once and saved thousands of Americans.

Makes you kind of wonder whar planet these cowards came from, doesn't it?

The Science of Genocide | NationofChange

On this day in 1945 the United States demonstrated that it was as morally bankrupt as the Nazi machine it had recently vanquished and the Soviet regime with which it was allied. Over Hiroshima, and three days later over Nagasaki, it exploded an atomic device that was the most efficient weapon of genocide in human history. The blast killed tens of thousands of men, women and children. It was an act of mass annihilation that was strategically and militarily indefensible. The Japanese had been on the verge of surrender. Hiroshima and Nagasaki had no military significance. It was a war crime for which no one was ever tried. The explosions, which marked the culmination of three centuries of physics, signaled the ascendancy of the technician and scientist as our most potent agents of death.

Now you know: Obama and Bush are cousins | Times 247

What do Barack Obama, Thomas Jefferson, George W. Bush and the other past U.S. presidents have in common? Besides holding the coveted title of commander-in-chief, it appears that all of them but one are cousins.  The remarkable discovery was made by 12-year-old BridgeAnne d’Avignon, of Salinas, California, who created a ground-breaking family tree that connected 42 of 43 U.S. presidents to one common, and rather unexpected, ancestor: King John of England. ‘They all have the trait of wanting power,’ d’Avignon told the station WFMY.

NUGENT: Whacky Harry Reid talks trash about Romney - Washington Times

You have to know that times are desperate in the Obama campaign when Sen. Harry Reid is trotted out to contend that Mitt Romney didn’t pay taxes for a decade. Never one to let facts get in the way, the Democratic Senate majority leader offered no damning public statement regarding his views on Mr. Obama’s tax cheat czar Timothy Geithner a few years ago or good old leftist buddy Tom Daschle’s failure to pay his taxes. Then there is my favorite, Rep. Charles Rangel of “what me worry, who me, what taxes?” fame. Where has Mr. Reid been on the subject of dozens of staff members of the Obama administration who are delinquent in paying almost $1 million in taxes

Got to take care of the people who own our government....

Oba mama will hit the jackpot when he leaves office. Just like broke dick Clinton, remember? But they're after our SS and VA checks, trust me.

I have to agree with this guy because it's obvious theirs little difference in the two parties. They call each other names and make a lot of promises but nothing changes. The gang hangs together.

Not to say they don't squable snd bitch but little happens that will change the way the Empire is falling.

Obama’s Second Term Agenda: Cutting Social Security, Medicare, and/or Medicaid « naked capitalism

This is probably the least important Presidential election since the 1950s. As an experienced political hand told me, the two candidates are speaking not to the voters, but to the big money. They hold the same views, pursue the same policies, and are backed by similar interests. Mitt Romney implemented Obamacare in Massachusetts, or Obama implemented Romneycare nationally. Both are pro-choice or anti-choice as political needs change, both tend to be hawkish on foreign policy, both favor tax cuts for businesses, and both believe deeply in a corrupt technocratic establishment. So while the election lumbers on like the death rattles of the wounded animal known American democracy, no one on either side is asking what the plan is for the next term. For Obama, his team is going into rooms of donors and shouting “Supreme Court”, while mumbling something about bipartisanship and $4 trillion, or Simpson-Bowles. What this means is that term two of the Obama White House will be organized around cutting entitlements.

Are we sure the jails are big enough.....

Like anyone is going to prosecute, right? (Don't tell him the law has been bought, ok?)

Corrupt Government Officials Should Be In Jail … Alongside Corrupt Banksters | ZeroHedge

Wall Street fraud caused the Great Depression and the current financial crisis. Top economists and financial experts agree that our economy will never recover unless Wall Street fraud is prosecuted. Yet the government has more or less made it official policy not to prosecute fraud, and instead to do everything necessary to cover up for Wall Street.  For example, the Obama administration is prosecuting fewer financial crimes  than under Reagan or either Bush. For example, we pointed out in 2010: The government’s entire strategy now – as during the S&L crisis – is to cover up how bad things are.   But it is not only a matter of covering up fraud that has already happened. The government also created an environment which greatly encouraged fraud.   Here are just a few of many potential examples: The government-sponsored rating agencies committed massive fraud (and see this) The Treasury department allowed banks to “cook their books” Regulators knew of and allowed the use of debt-hiding accounting tricks by the big banks Tim Geithner was complicit in Lehman’s accounting fraud, (and see this), and pushed to pay AIG’s CDS counterparties at full value, and then to keep the deal secret. And as Robert Reich notes, Geithner was “very much in the center of the action” regarding the secret bail out of Bear Stearns without Congressional approval. William Black points out: “Mr. Geithner, as President of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York since October 2003, was one of those senior regulators who failed to take any effective regulatory action to prevent the crisis, but instead covered up its depth” The former chief accountant for the SEC says that Bernanke and Paulson broke the law and should be prosecuted Freddie and Fannie helped to create the epidemic of mortgage fraud The government knew about mortgage fraud a long time ago. For example, the FBI warned of an “epidemic” of mortgage fraud in 2004. However, the FBI, DOJ and other government agencies then stood down and did nothing. See this and this. For example, the Federal Reserve turned its cheek and allowed massive fraud, and the SEC has repeatedly ignored accounting fraud. Indeed, Alan Greenspan took the position that fraud could never happen Paulson and Bernanke falsely stated that the big banks receiving Tarp money were healthy, when they were not Arguably, both the Bush and Obama administrations broke the law by refusing to close insolvent banks Congress may have covered up illegal tax breaks for the big banks Economist James K. Galbraith wrote in the introduction to his father, John Kenneth Galbraith’s, definitive study of the Great Depression, The Great Crash, 1929: The main relevance of The Great Crash, 1929 to the great crisis of 2008 is surely here. In both cases, the government knew what it should do. Both times, it declined to do it. In the summer of 1929 a few stern words from on high, a rise in the discount rate, a tough investigation into the pyramid schemes of the day, and the house of cards on Wall Street would have tumbled before its fall destroyed the whole economy. In 2004, the FBI warned publicly of “an epidemic of mortgage fraud.” But the government did nothing, and less than nothing, delivering instead low interest rates, deregulation and clear signals that laws would not be enforced.

Simple solution here.....

Politically impossible at this time but a national sales tax on all transactions eliminate tax shelters, oversea banking scams, and especially, government snooping into people private lives.

Of course, that's the reason we have all these tax laws, to screw with people and control them.

Super Rich Stash At Least $21 Trillion In Secret Tax Havens | Finance

At least $21 trillion of unreported private financial wealth was owned by wealthy individuals via tax havens at the end of 2010. This sum is equivalent to the size of the United States and Japanese economies combined. There may be as much as $32 trillion of hidden financial assets held offshore by high net worth individuals (HNWIs), according to our report The Price of Offshore Revisited, which is thought to be the most detailed and rigorous study ever made of financial assets held in offshore financial centres and secrecy structures. We consider these numbers to be conservative. This is only financial wealth and excludes a welter of real estate, yachts and other non-financial assets owned via offshore structures. The research for the Tax Justice Network (TJN) by former McKinsey & Co Chief Economist James Henry comes amid growing concerns about an enormous and growing gulf between rich and poor in countries around the globe. Accompanying this research is another study by TJN, entitled "Inequality:You Don’t Know the Half of It, which demonstrates that all studies of economic inequality to date have failed to account properly for this missing wealth. It concludes that inequality is far worse than we think. Other main findings of this wide-ranging research include: • Our analysis finds that at the end of 2010 the Top 50 private banks alone collectively managed more than $12.1 trillion in cross-border invested assets for private clients, including their trusts and foundations. This is up from $5.4 trillion in 2005, representing an average annual growth rate of more than 16%. • The three private banks handling the most assets offshore on behalf of the global super-rich are UBS, Credit Suisse and Goldman Sachs. The top ten banks alone commanded over half the top fifty’s asset total – an increased share since 2005. • The number of the global super-rich who have amassed a $21 trillion offshore fortune is fewer than 10 million people. Of these, less than 100,000 people worldwide own $9.8 trillion of wealth held offshore. • If this unreported $21-32 trillion, conservatively estimated, earned a modest rate of return of just 3%, and that income was taxed at just 30%, this would have generated income tax revenues of between $190-280 bn – roughly twice the amount OECD countries spend on all overseas development assistance around the world. Inheritance, capital gains and other taxes would boost this figure considerably. • For our focus subgroup of 139 mostly low-middle income countries, traditional data shows aggregate external debts of $4.1 trillion at the end of 2010. But take their foreign reserves and unrecorded offshore private wealth into account, and the picture reverses: they had aggregate net debts of minus $10.1-13.1 trillion. In other words, these countries are big net creditors, not debtors. Unfortunately, their assets are held by a few wealthy individuals, while their debts are shouldered by their ordinary people through their governments. Read more here:

Absolute nonsense in a our fiat system....

A sovereign government can borrow all it needs of it's own currency and there is no "crowding out of private borrowers". Private borrowers can't borrow today because they are broke or have enough borrowed money and or are afraid to borrow more.

Europe is not in a sovereign system but is a group of states without a central independant bank.

Abandoning Ship | Peak Prosperity

A further concern is that government borrowing is crowding out the private sector.  Private sector borrowers are being badly squeezed, not only for capital investment funding but also for their working capital requirements. The consequence is that governments with large budget deficits are not going to get the future tax revenues assumed in economic forecasts. This is why the only solution to the Eurozone’s problems is a round of massive and immediate cuts in public spending. Without these cuts, the destruction of real savings, vital to the economic wellbeing of society itself, continues. In the past, this destruction was a relatively slow process, but the speed at which it is now happening has accelerated exponentially. The importance of cutting public spending has become more urgent; unfortunately, the election of President Hollande in France has delayed this process. Help from outsiders only delays the inevitable and increases their exposure to the Eurozone’s problems. Lending to Eurozone countries by US banks has expanded in all the cases shown in the chart below, though lending totals have fluctuated widely. But total lending (the heavy black line) is still up 67% from December 2007. A cynic might say that the Fed has encouraged US banks to increase their lending to the Eurozone, on the basis that no banker in his right mind would have otherwise done so. But if this is true, the Fed has little flexibility to continue with this support, given that commercial bankers will be increasingly reluctant to commit further funds. It explains President Obama’s interest in the current state of the Eurozone, because if it goes down, there will have to be a major capital injection into US banks to keep them solvent. We get used to trillions being thrown around, but that is government spending and money-printing; in the context of the Wall Street banks, the quantities are not small, with the lending total at end-December 2011 being $347bn.

We aborted most of the future violent offenders......

30 million abortions slowed down a lot of crime, don't you think?

Tomgram: Stephan Salisbury, Life in the American Slaughterhouse | TomDispatch

Is America an increasingly violent society?  Statistics seemingly tell us no.  From 2001 to 2010, according to the U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics, violent crime victimizations actually dropped 34%.  While this decrease is part of a longer-term trend (and there’s still startling amounts of carnage in this country), it begs the question of whether the United States is really less violent than previously and, if so, where all that excess violence went. It’s notable that, since 2001, the U.S. has been exporting and facilitating violence of all sorts all over the globe.  Some of this violence is thoroughly sanctioned and some isn’t.  In Iraq, members of the U.S. military committed violent acts against untold numbers of Iraqis, including military personnel who served Saddam Hussein’s regime, as well as insurgents, and civilians.  (The U.S. invasion itself touched off Iraqi-on-Iraqi violence that killed tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands and continues to this day.)  Though the numbers may not be comparable, much the same story could be told about Afghanistan, not to speak of Pakistan, Yemen, and Somalia.  Americans have also killed African pirates on the high seas and, just days ago, an Indian fisherman on a boat in the Persian Gulf.   Recently, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agents have been killing suspected drug smugglers in Honduras.  U.S. arms have been sent to Middle Eastern autocrats visiting violence on their own people and the U.S. military has trained African troops to more effectively kill African insurgents.  American weapons have flooded Mexico and supercharged drug violence there.  A war in Libya, involving the U.S. military, led to Tuareg fighters looting Libyan weapons stockpiles and committing acts of violence across the border in Mali (which was plunged into further violence due to a military coup by an American-trained officer).  Today, America’s commander-in-chief regularly selects individuals in a number of countries to be placed on a “kill list,” targeted, and assassinated.  And so it goes.  Exporting violence is not, of course, simply a post-9/11 phenomenon.  It’s been an American tradition, from the halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli, from Haiti to Hiroshima.  When the U.S. exported war to Southeast Asia, it eventually engulfed Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos in utter carnage.  One way civilians there were frequently killed resulted from what historian David Hunt has trenchantly called “the sin of running.”  A Vietnamese villager frightened by the roar of a helicopter or a door-gunner pointing an M-60 machine gun at her would bolt in fear or a young military-age man would take flight when armed American teenagers, who might detain, beat, or kill him, approached.  As Vietnam veterans would later tell me, “running” branded Vietnamese as guilty, and so as enemies, in the minds of many U.S. troops and led to startling numbers of noncombatants being gunned down. Today, TomDispatch regular Stephan Salisbury

Suddenly in the Mitt VP mix: Bondi, Pam Bondi | Times 247

As Mitt Romney draws closer to a decision about his 2012 running mate, speculation about who the Republican presidential candidate will select to be his No. 2 has reached a fever pitch. Romney is expected to make the announcement sometime after he returns from overseas next week. ... But this afternoon, the campaign added a surprise name to the list: Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi. According to a campaign release, Bondi will travel miles away from her home state on Saturday to stump for Romney at three stops in New Hampshire, including a Women for Mitt Kickoff Breakfast in Concord, and campaign office openings in Bedford and Stratham.

SCHWEIZER: No justice in Corzine case - Washington Times

Sixty-five members of Congress have signed a letter to Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. requesting that he appoint a special prosecutor to investigate MF Global’s collapse and the loss of $1.6 billion in customer money. As the New York Times has noted, “Mr. Holder has the ultimate authority to decide whether a special counsel is necessary.” Some contend that the fact that Mr. Holder, Mr. Corzine and Associate Attorney General Tony West all previously served as fundraising “bundlers” for President Obama’s presidential campaign is enough to warrant Mr. Holder’s recusal and the appointment of a special prosecutor. Indeed, a letter signed by 65 members of Congress cites Mr. Corzine’s $500,000 in fundraising for Mr. Obama as one of the reasons a special counsel is needed. A subsequent report by Bloomberg revealed that MF Global had written clauses into bond offerings indicating that Mr. Corzine, a former Democratic U.S. senator and governor of New Jersey, might join a future Obama administration as a Cabinet officer, a revelation that surprised even experienced Wall Street executives. However, political connections

If you are an honest citizen......

Why can't you have any gun you can afford? You don't need it? It's too dangerous?

Or it just scares the shit out of the people who own us?

If you don't have at least one gun by now you deserve what your going to get. You have to live in fear that guys like me don't just show up and take anything we want because we know your defenseless and not very bright if it comes to crunch time.

The most important person in feudalism was the knight. That's because he had a big fucking sword and wasn't afraid to use it. Now, we may never need a weapon in a thousand lifetimes but if I was in that theater the other night that asshole would have been...., let's say,....HOLY!

You ever notice that none of these nuts try to shoot up a NRA meeting or a gun show...let alone a cop party, right?

Not exactly rocket science my friend!

The NRA Has America Living Under the Gun | NationofChange

You might think Wayne LaPierre, executive vice president of and spokesman for the mighty American gun lobby, the National Rifle Association, has an almost cosmic sense of timing. In 2007, at the NRA’s annual convention in St. Louis, he warned the crowd that, “Today, there is not one firearm owner whose freedom is secure.” Two days later, a young man opened fire on the campus of Virginia Tech, killing 32 students, staff and teachers. Just last week, LaPierre showed up at the United Nations Conference on the Arms Trade Treaty here in New York and spoke out against what he called “anti-freedom policies that disregard American citizens’ right to self-defense.” Now at least 12 are dead in Aurora, Colorado, gunned down at a showing of the new film, The Dark Knight Rises, a Batman movie filled with make-believe violence. One of the guns the shooter used was an AK-47 type assault weapon that was banned in 1994. The ban ran out in 2004. Obviously, LaPierre’s timing isn’t cosmic, just coincidental and unfortunate; as Shakespeare famously wrote, the fault is not in our stars, but in ourselves. In other words, people -- people with guns. There are some 300 million guns in the United States, one in four adult Americans owns at least one and most of them are men. According to the British newspaper The Guardian, over the last 30 years, “the number of states with a law that automatically approves licenses to carry concealed weapons provided an applicant clears a criminal background check has risen from eight to 38.”

More examples of they are two peas in a pod....

The left-right dichotomy in our political process is nothing more than show on the whole. Both sides agree with each other on policy but only quible if a Republican president does something then the left caterwhauls for all to hear. And if Obama does it it's justified because he is a man of the left.

Yes, Osama was allegedly taken out by our guys but I would have much more enjoyed a public trial and execution for mass murder but we wouldn't want to upset the "peacefull Moslems", would we?

International Law Is Made By Powerful States | ThinkProgress

That’s not to say one can raise no objections to this. Viewing terrorism as a primarily military problem is a mistake that led the United States into a lot of policy errors. I hope we’ll turn away from this. And of course if you’re Pakistani you might look at this series of events and say that international law looks kind of bogus. They didn’t even get a vote on the Security Council! What kind of sense does it make for the US, China, and Russia to get together and tell the world which countries may and may not be subject to SEAL raids? This would also be a very valid point for a political radical like Chomsky to raise. But it is what it is. International law is made by states, powerful states have a disproportionate role in shaping it, and powerful states have obvious reasons to not be super-interested in the due process of suspected international terrorists or the sensibilities of mid-sized countries. Many people are pacifists and/or strong critics of western military power, and that’s fine. But it’s simply not the case that international law is identical with these policy preferences. On the contrary, one of the main functions of the international institutional order is precisely to legitimate the use of deadly military force by western powers.

Another instance that there isn't a nickels difference in who gets elected....

I don't give a rat's ass about foreigners even though my policy would be to offer citizenship to anyone who was willing to pay our taxes, obey our laws and help keep the peace throughout the Empire. But, I do care when a citizen is murdered by the President.

We have inalienable rights guaranteed by the Constitution for "due process" which means that everyone is held to be safe in his person. Does our elected leaders not realize that this respect goes both ways? No one is invulnerable if injustice is allowed to occur.

If  Anwar al-Awlaki was guilty then he needed to be tried for treason and then executed. (I don't give a rat's ass about traitors, either!)

Tomgram: Noam Chomsky, The Great Charter, Its Fate, and Ours | TomDispatch

The issue arose after the presidentially ordered assassination-by-drone of Anwar al-Awlaki, accused of inciting jihad in speech, writing, and unspecified actions.  A headline in the New York Times captured the general elite reaction when he was murdered in a drone attack, along with the usual collateral damage.  It read: “The West celebrates a cleric’s death.” Some eyebrows were lifted, however, because he was an American citizen, which raised questions about due process -- considered irrelevant when non-citizens are murdered at the whim of the chief executive.  And irrelevant for citizens, too, under Obama administration due-process legal innovations. Presumption of innocence has also been given a new and useful interpretation.  As the New York Times reported, “Mr. Obama embraced a disputed method for counting civilian casualties that did little to box him in. It in effect counts all military-age males in a strike zone as combatants, according to several administration officials, unless there is explicit intelligence posthumously proving them innocent.” So post-assassination determination of innocence maintains the sacred principle of presumption of innocence.

Here's one economist that has a clue...

As I've been blogging for years now..... Give the consumer the money and this depression is over. Broke dicks, no matter who's at fault, can't spend what they don't have. Our fiat system needs consumers to spend so money can be created through our banking system and then destroyed through our FEDERAL taxation.

It's hard to understand but the U.S. government doesn't have any money (some gold yes, but gold is not money, only federal reserve notes are.) Our Treasury creates money (yes, out of thin air) as soon as authorized by Congress and the President through the authorization process by crediting our bank accounts with deposits in the Fed.

As we withdraw this money and spend it it's taxed back to the Treasury and destroyed into thin air. Which means the only money in our system is in our banks and our pockets THAT WE HAVEN'T SPENT and are used by banks as reserves (cash on hand in case their customers need the money back) not in any government accounts. No surplus or deficit is possible because the government doesn't have any money.

And yes, it's weird but that' why it's called a fiat system amongst economist.

The only real cure for  this depression would be to send you and me a big check to pay off (JUBILEE) our debts and reset the system. This economist I'm talking about, Steve Keene, simply wants the government to credit our bank accounts with the stipulation that it be used for paying debts first and any left then be allowed to be spent.

Now, this is not a panacea because the gang that destroyed our system still owns it and you and I have no say. But, this works for me. (Hair splitting  maybe but the IRS has my address and they could just send me a check and I'll take care of the debts.)

What if in a few more years we are still this shit?

Normally, history shows us that these people at the top  are not going to change their strangle hold on our system and so, it must, one way or the other, be purged. Tar and feather, lynching, assasination .....take you pick. Hey I'm just reporting that these things can end badly because there are a COUPLE OF HUNDRED MILLION Guns out here.

Right?

Manifesto | Steve Keen's Debtwatch

Escaping from the debt trap we are now in will require either a “Lost Generation”, or policies that run counter to conventional economic thought and the short-term interests of the financial sector. Preventing a future crisis will require a redefinition of financial claims upon the real economy which eliminates the appeal of leveraged speculation. These three observations lead to the three primary objectives of Debtwatch: To develop a realistic, empirically based, dynamic monetary approach to economic theory and policy; To develop and promote a “modern Jubilee” by which private debt can be reduced while doing the minimum possible harm to aggregate demand and social equity; and To develop and promote new definitions of shares and property ownership that will minimize the destructive instabilities of capitalism and promote its creative instabilities. A realistic economics The economic and financial crisis has been caused by unenlightened self-interest and fraudulent behaviour on an unprecedented scale. But this behaviour could not have grown so large were it not for the cover given to this behaviour by the dominant theory of economics, which is known as “Neoclassical Economics”. Though many commentators call this theory “Keynesian”, one of Keynes’s objectives in the 1930s was to overthrow this theory, but instead, as the memory of the Great Depression receded, academic economists gradually constructed an even more extreme version of Neoclassical economics than that against which Keynes had fought. This began with Hicks’s “IS-LM” model, which is still accepted as representing “Keynesian” economics today, but which was in fact a Neoclassical model derived two years before the General Theory was published: The IS-LM diagram, which is widely,

Randy Wray: Why We’re Screwed « naked capitalism

As the Global Financial Crisis rumbles along in its fifth year, we read the latest revelations of bankster fraud, the LIBOR scandal. This follows the muni bond fixing scam detailed a couple of weeks ago, as well as the J.P. Morgan trading fiasco and the Corzine-MF Global collapse and any number of other scandals in recent months. In every case it was traders run amuck, fixing “markets” to make an easy buck at someone’s expense. In times like these, I always recall Robert Sherrill’s 1990 statement about the S&L crisis that “thievery is what unregulated capitalism is all about.” After 1990 we removed what was left of financial regulations following the flurry of deregulation of the early 1980s that had freed the thrifts so that they could self-destruct. And we are shocked, SHOCKED!, that thieves took over the financial system.

Didn't I tell you?.....

You just can't make this shit up!!

At least 21 treated for burns after trying to walk on coals at Tony Robbins event | Fox News

Fire officials in California say at least 21 people were treated for burns after attendees of an event for motivational speaker Tony Robbins tried to walk on hot coals. The San Jose Mercury News reports that at least three people went to a hospital and most suffered second- or third-degree burns. Robbins was hosting a 4-day gathering called "Unleash the Power Within" at the San Jose Convention Center. Witnesses say on Thursday, a crowd went to a park where 12 lanes of hot coals were on the grass. Robbins' website promotes "The Firewalk Experience" in which people walk on super-heated coals. Witness Jonathan Correll says he heard "screams of agony."

More economic nonsense...this time from the left.....

Give every worker 5 or 10 bucks more a week and we will be in economic ecstacy.....yea!!!! Obam mam already did by cutting the Social Security tax. (did you notice no one is worried about bankrupting the system. Didn't i tell you the system can never go broke..SHHHH!)

Just where do these poor bastards think the money will come from to give these workers a few more pennies to spend?

Where? Look in the mirror.

Want to make a change? have the treasury send me and you a big check and watch the economy grow as we pay off a bunch of cars and loans for Chinese trinkets. Some people would even be able to save their house. And more of us would be able to give raises to broke dicks on minimum wage.

P.s will some one slap these ninnys on the head and tell them that Walmart pays above the minumum wage and offers a middle class lifestyle to those who are willing to work hard, apply themselves, are drug free and honest!

Might even get us back to voting, LOL.

Want A Real Recovery? Raise the Minimum Wage. | NationofChange

Scratch the surface of just about any economic debate this election year, and you'll find one issue that goes all the way to the core: the yawning gap between the 1% and the rest of us, as skyrocketing income inequality. A new report from the National Employment Law Project (NELP), "Big Business, Corporate Profits, and the Minimum Wage," shows the extremes of that divide, and makes the case for raising the federal minimum wage as a means of closing that gap, and putting the national economy on the road to a real recovery. The report explores the connection between stagnant —and falling — wages, and it's central finding explodes the argument that raising the minimum wage will cause employers to stop hiring, and the hurt small businesses that opponents of a minimum wage increase (and of the idea of a minimum wage itself) claim are the primary employers of low-wage workers.  The central findi

Our economic problems always begin and end with oil.....

Inflation is set by these gangsters. make no mistake we are owned by these guys. Just try and live without oil for awhile. Then you would pay anything to get it back.

How about this.... Obama twenty years ago was a broke dick nobody not long out of college and

today he is a multimillionaire without ever having a real job, business or winning lottery ticket. And he id definately correct that he didn't get there by himself, right?

Forget Libor-gate, Oil Market Manipulation Is Far Worse | ZeroHedge

Start out a quarter at $80 a barrel , buy a bunch of futures contracts and put them in the portfolio along with your other holdings like Apple, IBM, and Johnson and Johnson and run them up just like any other asset class in the first quarter to hit your numbers. Use the media to hype Iran or any other potential supply disruption scenario and Voila you end the quarter at $110 and you have made far more gains in your Crude Oil asset class than lowly Apple by comparison. It’s the biggest game on Wall Street!   Notice how European equities are at 11 week highs and look at the Spike in the Brent contract. Fund managers pump money into these asset classes and once earnings are over, they will pull their money out so they are not left holding the bag when the damage to the economy ensues as consumers and the economy slows due to the burden of artificially high Oil prices on discretionary income.

The U.S can never involuntarily go bankrupt!!!......

Pretty obvious that all government spending goes into our hands and that the deficits and national Debts are accounting measures and don't mean that we threw the money down a rat hole. Some of it is in my retirement government bonds. More is going to old farts, retirees and welfare bums. Much goes back to government employees and contractors.

Every penny gets spent and taxed back to the Treasury. Government spends a dolar it gets it back one way or the other in a fiat money economy. Banks create most of the money by making loans so if you want more money going into the Treasury.....

Send us a big check and we will pay off our bills and buy every fucking thing in sight!!!

I guess it's more fun and politically useful for the people who own us to scare the beJesus out of little old ladies on SS and Repubilcans and keep this nuttiness going.

Yes, the government must be stopped in it's tracks because we can't fart without it's blessing, permission or order.

but slashing government spending ain't going to work! We all have a government check , job, or position to protect because the Republicans lied about making the government smaller and few, if any voters, were serious about it.

Period.

It's over for small government believers because they can't get their own politicians to go along because the voters are so dependant they can't survive without that tit.

P.s every one of the "leaders" of both parties know it.

So, what do we do? Get used to it.

The Things Obama Says…. | PRAGMATIC CAPITALISM

If you just finished section 6 in Understanding the Modern Monetary System then you understand a lot more about the monetary system than Barack Obama.  Because once you understand sector balance economics you understand that the three sectors (public, private and foreign) must always add up to zero.  So, since we have a foreign sector that equates to a 4% demand leakage, and a public sector that is running a 8% deficit that leaves the private with a 4% surplus.  Not bad.  But it’s also obviously not great since the private sector remains burdened by excessive debt and is trying to crawl out of this debt hole. More frightening is the idea that getting back to a budget surplus is somehow a good thing.  As if the government needs to “tighten its belt strap” just like a household does because it might go bankrupt.  Of course, the government doesn’t have a solvency constraint so the entire analogy is void of value.  So when the public sector gets back to that surplus range we end up having a 4% demand leakage from the foreign sector and a 4% deficit for the private sector (see the image below).  This is precisely what led up to the crisis and helped contribute to the current economic malaise.  It is not what we need right now!  In a deleveraging cycle within a nation running a trade deficit the private sector needs helps deleveraging.  And since the public sector has no solvency constraint it is the only sector that can provide the deficit that is necessary to ease this burden.  Otherwise, we risk repeating the mistakes of the late 90′s that caused this whole mess to begin with!

Boo hoo... Obama mean to me....

Jesus these guys are pathetic. This is the best we can do?

Romney shows his fighting side, to GOP cheers - Washington Times
Dogged by lingering questions about his business record, Mitt Romney shifted from defense to attack mode Monday, accusing President Obama of unfairly rewarding campaign donors. It was a more aggressive posture many Republicans have been wanting to see.

The Republican’s camp unveiled a new ad and line of attack that argue Mr. Obama has practiced a perverted form of crony capitalism during his first 31/2 years in office — to the detriment of the American middle class.

As one example, Romney senior adviser Ed Gillespie pointed to Fisker Automotive, which counts the venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers as one of its major investors. Employees of the firm have contributed millions to mostly Democratic political candidates, including money to Mr. Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Me and Sarah Palin had it right.....

Drill baby drill. The world is awash in oil. Almost every continent has enough to last every country for ever. But you have to get the politicians out of it and let the market work.

I've been blogging this for years....we have an energy problem only because our government and the people who own it want us to have an energy problem. The oil companies, as proven in North Dakota, are more tham capable of producing more than we can use once the price is considered profitable. Screwing around with permits and government obstructionism to produce our oil without a chance of profit? Ain't going to happen!

America – On the Path to Energy Independence? | PRAGMATIC CAPITALISM

“America remains on path toward energy self-sufficiency…Thanks to technological advances in the extraction of natural gas and petroleum out of shale rock, America’s domestic energy production has increased dramatically in recent years. In turn, this surge in domestic energy output has rapidly reduced the need to import energy from abroad. As a result, America’s natural gas import bill has dropped sharply. Given that the market expected the US to become a very large LNG importer by 2012, this is a very significant shift. True, America is still spending more on foreign oil today than it did five years ago due to the large increase in oil prices. But it may not be for long, as oil import volumes are falling rapidly across the board. …and resources in

More left wing nattering....

I'm picking on the socialists this week as I tell my readers that America is devided into two warring camps, right -left. The left preaches that the country is rotten because of Republicans (consevatives) and the right insists it's the leftists (commies) in the Democrat party.

The whole point is to get me and you on one side or the other and give them the power of the vote and, especially, our money. When we watch these people in action, most of the time, you can't tell any policy or legislation that differs.

The whole idea is to control our thoughts, money, and vote. But, don't take my word for it, just listen and watch what they do. They all leave their cushy government, TV, or university jobs and never have to work again if they play the game.

If We’re Headed Toward Greece, Republicans are Driving Us There | NationofChange

"You call that forward?" Romney said mockingly of an Obama campaign slogan last month. "That's forward over a cliff, that's forward on the way to Greece." What Graham, Romney and all the other Republican politicians and pundits consistently fail to mention — or perhaps don't know — is that the central Greek problem isn't overspending per se. The central problem is the Greek government's failure to collect what taxpayers (especially wealthy taxpayers) actually owe under the law. That's because over the years so many Greeks have adopted an attitude toward taxes resembling that of Romney and Graham. Indeed, Greece has developed a culture of tax evasion, with wealthy citizens sending their money out of the country and poorer citizens bribing officials or conducting their business off the books. The amount of tax owed but not paid in Greece is estimated at roughly a third of total receipts — or enough to cover the nation's deficits and begin to restore its credit. Sociologists who have studied the Greek tax situation say that rampant evasion by the rich has trickled down to infect the rest of society, ruining the "tax morale" of wage-earners and small business owners. As James Surowiecki explained in The New Yorker, people here and elsewhere don't pay taxes simply because they fear prosecution; they pay because they are "social taxpayers" who "feel a responsibility to contribute to the common good." But that sense of shared obligation gradually dissipates when taxpayers suspect that many others, especially the rich, are not participating fairly and fully. Despite growing debt and deficits, we are not on the road to Greece. With investors around the world rushing to purchase U.S.Treasury bonds and driving rates to historic lows, this country is far from the plight of the homeland of democracy. For now, it is safe to ignore right-wing rhetoric that shrieks the fiscal sky is falling. But if such troubles lie ahead, the real cause will not be spending on income security, health care, infrastructure, education or any of the other programs that have made America a great nation. If we are driven toward national bankruptcy someday, the likeliest cause will be our failure to raise and enforce taxes on those who can afford to pay — because we, too, have encouraged a culture of evasion rather than responsibility.

Paranoia.......

Or Reich just earning his paycheck. This guy has been part of the elite and part of the rot that sits in Washington manipulating and brainwashing the so called voter. Dividing the working stiff into the old right-left paradigm these guys make a pretty nice pile of cash. But there is no discernable difference between them as they live together, party together, marry each other, send their children to the same elite private schools and hire each other.

You'll notice that few names are given or any advocacy of these "regressives" are stated only boogy men and would of and could have and might have.

But, I'm an equal opportunity critic and will point out to you that the professional right spews similar nonsense about the left. (the libs will spend my grandchildren into the poor house!)

You must wonder, as I do, what would these people do for a living if we just quit listening to their bullshit! ( But that would spoil the fun!)

The Real Battle in 2012 and Beyond | NationofChange

It’s not merely Republicans versus Democrats, or conservatives versus liberals. The larger battle is between regressives and progressives. Regressives want to take this nation backward — to before Social Security, unemployment insurance, and Medicare; before civil rights and voting rights; before regulations designed to protect the environment, workers, consumers, and investors. They want to sabotage much of what this nation has achieved over the last century. And they’re out to do it by making the rich far richer, turning Americans against one another in competition for a smaller and smaller slice of the pie, substituting private morality for public morality, and opening the floodgates to big money in politics.  Progressives are determined to take this nation forward — toward equal opportunity, tolerance and openness, adequate protection against corporate and Wall Street abuses, and an economy and democracy that are working for all of us.  NationofChange is a 501(c)3

Stirred up some commentary.....

Received an interesting email from a reader, Dana, who was commenting on "Which one is the Republican?"

Let's see where we are at..... Dana wants to know.....

1. Why is President Obama attacking Mitt Romney's money?

2. What Obama will do about the fiscal cliff

Number 1
Obama attacks Romney's money because the only real card he has is class envy. Romney was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and you and I weren't so Romney must be "not one of us" . And we all know only morons vote for "not one of us".
Number 2 ...
Obama will not be able to do much about the "fiscal cliff" as he doesn't have any support in the House of Representatives. But, of course, we will hold him responsible because he's the president. (no one ever said the voters had a lick of sense when it comes election time. )
The real question to any informed citizen is just what real differences are there between, the Bush's policies, Clinton's or Oba mama's? Or anybody else, except Ron Paul, in the limelight. (a nice guy but horribly confused on economics)
The only ones I can find are: Republicans give checks to the military establishment first (their main constituency) and rally pissed off tax payers to support their policies of keeping them pissed off and the Dems give checks to a handful of voting blocks that make up a coalition that keeps them in office because no one would vote for these dingle berries of their own free will.
You'll find from my blog posts that I Lean Libertarian-right on the whole but I know that the U.S owns the world even though we are embarrassed or shy about it. We conquored the whole planet in '45 and we spent almost 70 years giving it back to halfwits, con men and various sissies who couldn't keep it or run it in the first place!
My main point of this blog is that our government has been bought by a small crowd of well heeled and noisy gang that quite literally owns us! (people have poo pooed the idea but just try to do anything with out government permit, legislation, permission, or without tax , incentive or penalty.) And they couldn't run a brick shithouse to save their sorry asses.

Ill be glad to read anything you have and will post and answer over the next few days. (Yes, I like to argue and that's correct, I'm always right, just ask my wife!)

Which one is the Republican?....

really, not a nickels difference between them except Bush made the government even bigger than Dems, LOL

Obama: Government Job Slayer | PRAGMATIC CAPITALISM

Little known or distributed fact: President Obama is a government job slayer.  That’s right.   When compared to both GW Bush and Bill Clinton, President Obama is absolutely crushing the size of the government workforce.  While Presidents Bush and Clinton added well over 500,000 government jobs during their first terms, President Obama has cut more than 500,000.  For anyone who remembers the early Clinton and Bush years there was  a great deal of decent employment data and the government workforce played a big role in those economic expansions.  But as this morning’s employment data showed, that positive effect is absent from this “recovery”.

Depression anyone?.....

Nothing new here. Obama  can't get anything done in Congress about it. We need a lot of money to pour into our pockets to spend us into a boom and it ain't happening. remains to be seen but the oil price drop is the only thing Obama can hope for.

I think he needs Jesus for that right now but an awful lot of voters are depending on their government handouts and pensions to vote against him.

I'll admit that it is going to be a lot closer than I thought because the president gets blamed or credited with everything even if he has no control over them.

Meanwhile, Patti and I are very comfortable in the new trailer "thanks to my insisting on a 3500 watt generator). Still have to work on water conservation because 50 gallons is way short. I've added 12 gallons more in portable cans so we can make it for seven days now.

I'll probably buy a portable tank for emptying the tanks when we hit the road next year so I have options on packing up at the various campsites in the Arizona deserts. Can't have too much capacity in reserve, that's for sure.

Robert Reich (The Jobs Doldrums and Obama's Future)

Bad news for the U.S. economy and for Barack Obama. We’re in the jobs doldrums. Unemployment for June is stuck at 8.2 percent, the same as in May. And only 80,000 new jobs were added.  Remember, 125,000 news jobs are needed just to keep up with the increase in the population of Americans who need jobs. That means the jobs situation continues to worsen.  The average of 75,000 new jobs created in April, May and June contrasts sharply with the 226,000 new jobs created in January, February and March.  In Ohio yesterday, Obama reiterated that he had inherited the worst economy since the Great Depression. That’s true. But the excuse is wearing thin. It’s his economy now, and most voters don’t care what he inherited.

Should we tell him....

Of course, as far as Wall Street is concerned they can bribe everybody in Washington with impunity.

Remember, they bought Oba mama!

P.s, Wall Street assholes who got us into this mess are in Oba mama's office right now plotting their next big windfall, Health Insurance!!

Robert Reich (Mitt Romney and the New Gilded Age)
The election of 2012 raises two perplexing questions. The first is how the GOP could put up someone for president who so brazenly epitomizes the excesses of casino capitalism that have nearly destroyed the economy and overwhelmed our democracy. The second is why the Democrats have failed to point this out.

The White House has criticized Mitt Romney for his years at the helm of Bain Capital, pointing to a deal that led to the bankruptcy of GS Technologies, a Bain investment in Kansas City that went belly up in 2001 at the cost of 750 jobs. But the White House hasn’t connected Romney’s Bain to the larger scourge of casino capitalism. Not surprisingly, its criticism has quickly degenerated into a “he said, she said” feud over what proportion of the companies that Bain bought and loaded up with debt subsequently went broke (it’s about 20 percent), and how many people lost their jobs relative to how many jobs were added because of Bain’s financial maneuvers (that depends on when you start and stop the clock). And it has invited a Republican countercharge that the administration gambled away taxpayer money on its own bad bet, the Solyndra solar panel company.

Still fooling with the mobile in Bonners....

A lot of little things need to be done to both units to be comfortable in the new trailer and saleable in the mobile. Have a lot of ideas for the new but need to take care of the old first. I'll post a video if it ever stops raining here on the new trailer.

Really looking forward to retiring with in the next 12 months and getting out og shitty weather!!!

Didn't Romney invent this healthcare mandate in Massachusetts?

Obama needed to lose this to win in November. Now the right has alll the ammo they need. Of course, the illegal vote will still win it for the black guy because he's special. LOL.

Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney

Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney said Thursday that the Supreme Court ruling upholding President Obama’s health care law means that the only way now to remove the law is to remove the president in the November election. “This is a time of choice for the American people. Our mission is clear: If we want to get rid of Obamacare, we have to replace President Obama,” Mr. Romney said, during a brief press conference across the street from the U.S. Capitol. Mr. Romney, a former Massachusetts governor, claimed that the Affordable Care Act amounts to a $500 billion tax increase and would strip $500 billion from the Medicare program. Under the law, he warned, tens of millions of Americans would have to change their health care providers, trillions of dollars would be lumped onto the national debt, and jobs would be lost.

What part of they own us don't you understand....

We can't protecty our borders fron foreign invasion and now we can't buy our own insurance without government approval. The list of things we can do is almost non existent.

Robert Reich (Roberts' Switch)

Today a majority of the Court upheld the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act, otherwise known as Obamacare in recognition of its importance as a key initiative of the Obama administration. The big surprise, for many, was the vote by the Chief Justice of the Court, John Roberts, to join with the Court’s four liberals.   Roberts’ decision is not without precedent. Seventy-five years ago, another Justice Roberts – no relation to the current Chief Justice – made a similar switch. Justice Owen Roberts had voted with the Court’s conservative majority in a host of 5-4 decisions invalidating New Deal legislation, but in March of 1937 he suddenly switched sides and began joining with the Court’s four liberals.  In popular lore, Roberts’ switch saved the Court – not only from Franklin D. Roosevelt’s threat to pack it with justices more amenable to the New Deal but, more importantly, from the public’s increasing perception of the Court as a partisan, political branch of government.

Oil, oil, oil.....

Watch the price of oil. Boom or bust it's oil, oil, oil. We live or die in this shit. Nothing is really counted as wealth except the black gold. Everything we eat, wear, buy, need comes from the thin line of tankers and trucks. Screw it up and crash as Jimmy Carter found out and now Obama is paying the price.

In 2008  oil prices sky rocketed and the banking system crashed through the floor.

Some coincidence, right? NOT!

As I've posted before, oil prices drop, we boom. Maybe to late for the ignoramus in the White House but that's the way our "global economy" works, elections or no elections.

Oba mama could have saved himself by opening all drilling and selling the reserves at cost. Oil would be back in the 70 or 80 range a year or so earlier, as I thought it would and we would be bitching about the Oba mama boom and the coming inflation. (and no, the arrogant leader ain't getting off no way no how LOL)

Imagine getting beat by a Mormon in magic underwear, for God's sake!

Sober Look: Crude oil vs. US equities: dislocation continues

In this recent post we discussed the seeming dislocation between levels of crude oil price (in this case WTI) and US equities (S&P500). Some readers have pointed out however that this may be driven by unusually high US crude inventories (particularly in Cushing OK, where WTI futures settle). The US crude stocks have indeed been on the rise, materially above the 5-year range.

Report: Calif. to get seas rising 6 inches by 2030 - Washington Times

The West Coast will see an ocean several inches higher in coming decades, with most of California expected to get sea levels a half foot higher by 2030, according to a report released Friday. The study by the National Research Council gives planners their best look yet at how melting ice sheets and warming oceans associated with climate change will raise sea levels along the country’s Pacific coast. It is generally consistent with earlier global projections, but takes a closer look at California, Oregon and Washington. Although the 6 inches expected for California by 2030 seem minor, the report estimated that sea levels there will be an average of 3 feet higher by 2100. About 72 percent of the state’s coast is covered by sandy cliffs, and the rest include beaches, sand dunes, bays and estuaries. Seaside cliffs will be cut back about 30 yards over the next 100 years, and sand dunes will be driven back even more, said Robert A. Dalrymple, a professor of civil engineering at Johns Hopkins University and chairman of the group that wrote the report. Coastal wetlands will be able to keep pace for about 50 years, but will eventually be overwhelmed without new sources of sand, and room to move inland. The report noted that dams ho

The Fed’s Shooting Blanks | PRAGMATIC CAPITALISM

In the midst of the U.S. economic slowdown, the ability of the Fed to do much more is doubtful.  Despite the Fed’s reduction of its growth estimate and its increase in the unemployment projection, the action it took is minimal and unlikely to help.  As we wrote in last week’s Special Report, “.the easiest and most reliable measures have already been taken and any remaining weapons are unorthodox, untried and subject to unknown negative side effects”. Chairman Bernanke essentially confirmed this at yesterday’s press conference, when in answer to a reporter’s question, he said, “.the types of unconventional programs that are now available.we know less about them.they have various costs and risks, and for that reason, we might get a different amount of financial accommodation in this kind of regime than one where short-term interest rates can be varied freely”.  He added that a larger Fed balance sheet would be harder to reduce later, could impair markets or foster financial instability.  Although Bernanke did say that the Fed was not out of ammunition, we got the impression that the Fed had done pretty much all it can and that factors such as Europe and the U.S. “fiscal cliff” were beyond the Fed’s control.

Told you they weren't serious about budget deficits.....

There will be no cuts no where no how! Not exactly rocket science that budget cutting, real budget cutting is not possible with our system of government . Too many voters too many on the big government tit.

And taking money out of our pockets destroys the economy. Proof? Watch Europe desintergrate until fiscal hawks are run out of office and then spend spend spend. (I'm betting they start using our dollar which means they have to take a big hit in wages and pensions or borrow from our Fed and knuckle under to our regime.)

We have to remember that all commodities on the planet are priced in dollars and we have the muscle to enforce it. Just ask the Arabs. Or the Iraqies. And let's not forget the idiots in Iran who are figuring it out. LOL.

Congress won't let Panetta close bases - Washington Times

Congress is poised to deliver a defeat to the Obama administration on one of its main defense policies in the new budget — base closings. Both the House and Senate Armed Services committees have produced fiscal 2013 spending bills that deny Defense Secretary Leon E. Panetta’s request to set up a Base Realignment and Closure Commission (BRAC) next year — the sixth since 1988. Some in defense circles say it is the result of election-year politics and members of Congress will realize next year that they need to heed top Pentagon officials who have testified that they have too much infrastructure and not enough money. “It is election-year posturing,” said an aerospace executive who monitors BRAC. Others are not so sure, saying base closings would put thousands of people out of work in a tepid job market.

Medicare-claims fraud suspected for penis pumps - Washington Times

A new report by federal auditors says a Kansas-based company may have paid out as much as $4.2 million in potentially fraudulent Medicare claims for penis pumps, and the auditors are asking the company to refund the government the money. The Health and Human Services inspector general said it sampled 100 claims made with Pos-T-Vac, the Dodge City-based penis-pump manufacturer, and found improprieties in more than half of payments for what are known as “male vacuum erection systems.” The errors ranged from the company’s failing to maintain proof that it delivered the pumps to customers, to one instance when the physician’s approval order wasn’t even signed by the doctor. Together, those claims from the small sample amounted to $18,007 in billings, and when multiplied across Pos-T-Vac’s entire set of 28,088 claims, the potential for fraudulent payments came to more than $4.2 million in 2008 and 2009, the auditors said.

Greece as Victim - NYTimes.com

Ever since Greece hit the skids, we’ve heard a lot about what’s wrong with everything Greek. Some of the accusations are true, some are false — but all of them are beside the point. Yes, there are big failings in Greece’s economy, its politics and no doubt its society. But those failings aren’t what caused the crisis that is tearing Greece apart, and threatens to spread across Europe. Fred R. And the solution to the crisis, if there is one, will have to come from the same places.

A leftist but his analysis his spot on....

Economics that our system is built on is apolitical left alone. However, the disagreement amongst the right and the left is basically whether we spend the money on Democrat constituencies or Republican therefor making them politically at loggerheads......

More social spending versus more military spending. Social spending on existing programs boosts the economy immediately, while military spending boosts large campaign contributors income. Both are effective when the economy is going strong but getting the economy out of Depression means we need a large amount of cash in your and my hands to buy up all the private debt that is crushing the consumer.

As I've been posting (yes, I like being proven correct!) send us a big check and the Depression is over!

(until the next one, anyways.) because unemployed broke dicks can't buy shit. And employed broke dicks can't borrow shit. That means that our employers can't hire the unemployed if no one can buy anything.

Just what part of this don't they understand?

Answer..... Most of the people who own us understand this just fine. It's just a simple fact that no one wants to lose the power to boss us around and secure their little gang in control of the government and our economy!

And as for balancing budgets, ala Europe, this a disaster that will make the last Depression look like a fart in the windstorm!

So what's next? I expected A boom by now but oil speculation has so far crushed it as Oba mama hasn't a clue of what's going on. I have to admit that historians will be hard pressed to blame him as he is boxed in by the Republicans and the Dems have abandoned him in Congress. The Clintons are jockying for the 2016 nomination and sticking Oba mama in the ass. (you can't make this shit up!)

The unions got their asses kicked in Wisconsin, a stalwart leftwing lala land, last week.Who would have beleved it.Hell' even Romney looks good compared to the poor bastard in the BIG HOUSE. LOL.

Hey, at least Patti and I are set for retirement. We have a roof over our heads and my old truck to pull it. Remember, once your able to get out of state your creditors are screwed so worse comes to worse we are out of here and headed for SUNSHINE!!

Robert Reich (Why The Economy Can't Get Out of First Gear)

The Fed’s latest report shows how loud that pop was. Between 2007 and 2010 (the latest data available) American families’ median net worth fell almost 40 percent – down to levels last seen in 1992. The typical family’s wealth is their home, not their stock portfolio – and housing values have dropped by a third since 2006. Families have also become less confident about how much income they can expect in the future. In 2010, over 35% of American families said they did not “have a good idea of what their income would be for the next year.” That’s up from 31.4% in 2007. But because their incomes and their net worth have both dropped, families are saving less. The proportion of families that said they had saved in the preceding year fell from 56.4% in 2007 to 52% in 2010, the lowest level since the Fed began collecting that information in 1992. Bottom line: The American economy is still struggling because the vast American middle class can’t spend more to get it out of first gear. What to do? There’s no s

What policies can the Republicans run against?

Oba mama doesn't have much done so far as the Democrats have deserted him in Congress. Of course, without passing a budget little harm is happening in Washington.

I hope this continues for many years until we get the government out of ruining our private lives. No budget increases mean no new taxes and new socialist programs which the left and the right want to ram down our throats.

Obama budget defeated 99-0 in Senate - Washington Times

The White House has held its proposal out as a "balanced approach" to beginning to rein in deficits. It calls for tax increases to begin to offset higher spending, and would begin to level off debt as a percentage of the economy by 2022. It would produce $6.4 trillion in new deficits over that time. By contrast the chief Republican alternative from the House GOP would notch just $3.1 trillion in deficits, and three Senate Republican alternatives would all come in below $2 trillion. The Senate is holding votes Wednesday on Mr. Obama's budget, the House GOP's budget and the three Senate Republican alternatives. None was expected to gain the 50 votes needed to pass the chamber.

Jesus made me do it....

Says so in the Bible. Honor your mother and father. Bitch.....LOL. At least ( we don't think) he didn't play stinky finger. Just put the fear of the Lord in her dumb ass......

He'll probably double the size of the church. After all, hating whitey works for Oba mama's preacher, Wright, didn't it? so, strangling an errant child should at leasty be good for a few new thousands in contributions, right?

Tell me again why anyone in their right minds would pay a bit of attention to these con artists? Remember Jimmy Swagart, Dolly Parton and Jerry Lee Lewis' cousin?

Got caught with paying for whores with contributions. But he was famous for blowing the whistle on Jimmy Baker for whoring around and robbing his own church.

How about Peter Popoff, exposed on TV using a ear piece to receive information from his wife while she was  in the audience suposidly talking to parisheners while Popoff was talking to their dead relatives.

If you need more,go here for a partial list.

And we wont even bother with the Catholics. But what in the Hell is wrong with the Jews and Moslems. Got a be at least one scumbag but sex doesn't seem to be of much interest with these guys....Or they are just smarter and sneakier than the nitwits in Christianity!

Megachurch pastor Creflo Dollar denies punching, choking daughter - Washington Times

The Rev. Creflo Dollar on Sunday staunchly denied he punched and choked his 15-year-old daughter in an argument, telling the congregation of his Atlanta-area megachurch that the allegations made in a police report are nothing but “exaggeration and sensationalism.” “I will say this emphatically: I should have never been arrested,” Mr. Dollar said in his first public appearance two days after police charged him with misdemeanor counts of simple battery and cruelty to children. The pastor got an enthusiastic ovation as he took the pulpit at the World Changers Church International in this Atlanta suburb. He addressed the criminal charges head-on for several minutes before moving on to his sermon. “I want you all to hear personally from me that all is well in the Dollar household,” Mr. Dollar said.

Weather more like April...

Nothing but rain. Can't wait to head south for retirement. Need to finish up here then I'm gone. Moving in slow but sure as I tweaked my back and Patti can'do much so we just shuffle along. Simon never made it to the shelter so , who knows? Patti and I will leave here for Walmart tomorrow afternoon so we can catch a movie and dinner to celebrate our 42 years together.

Back to work....

Pack her up and head for Walmart. Batteries and water held up well last week but was for only 3  days. This week it will be for five.

We spent the weekend packing the kitchen in here with 7 or 8 cases of can goods in the back of the pickup. The guys who build these things don't expect pack rat survival types to move in to them fulltime, I would guess. The mobile still has our clothing, my hand tools, and a lot of miscelaneous items to be sorted and sold. (need to find a home for my flytying stuff)

The neighbor lady said she would take care of Missy, our other cat, since we lost Simon. Don't think she believes we are too responsible for losing such a great guy. Me either.

Krugman finally comes around....

Next thing you know he will declare himself a new monatery theorist.  basically, government debt is part of  our national income and when we receive it we pay taxes back to the treasury and our spending is taxed by it's recipient etc, etc.

But we right wingers believe that government as it exists today is the enemy of freedom and no one knows how to curb it's eventual domination of everything in the world. Except scaring the fuck out of ignorant voters to kill the very Social Programs that sustains millions of people.

Does anyone believe I'll vote for Romney to cut Social Security, Medicare, student loans, VA retirement checks, etc. (let alone use the money to raise military spending and pay off the fat cats who have been exploiting the tax payers for ever) so he can save a couple of million a year in his personal taxes?

Didn't I ever tell you that the right has lost this argument and needs to find  something else. It's over. Done. No one can cut spending without crashing the economy and put us back to 2008. Let alone back to the 30's!

Watch Europe implode. No one can figure it out over there but cutting out cash to the broke dicks addicted to it is  politically impossible to do and remain a VIABLE NATION.

The Austerity Agenda - NYTimes.com

The bad metaphor — which you’ve surely heard many times — equates the debt problems of a national economy with the debt problems of an individual family. A family that has run up too much debt, the story goes, must tighten its belt. So if Britain, as a whole, has run up too much debt — which it has, although it’s mostly private rather than public debt — shouldn’t it do the same? What’s wrong with this comparison? The answer is that an economy is not like an indebted family. Our debt is mostly money we owe to each other; even more important, our income mostly comes from selling things to each other. Your spending is my income, and my spending is your income. So what happens if everyone simultaneously slashes spending in an attempt to pay down debt? The answer is that everyone’s income falls — my income falls because you’re spending less, and your income falls because I’m spending less. And, as our incomes plunge, our debt problem gets worse, not better.

Back in Bonners Ferry today....

Still moving in but I'm not that big of a hurry because I will sell this place in July or August and for now we can do laundry and use the internet and hold big yard sales for top dollar.

I'm installing my 32" TV and blue ray player in the bedroom next week. Need to get everything sorted out and sell a bunch of shit that Patti won't part with (let alone the pile I got!).

Nobody said the full time RV lifestyle was going to be easy.

I'm going to do a few Youtube videos sometime this week just to show everybody where we are at in this great adventure.

My posting will be erratic after monday but I'll keep ypou guys informed.

Living large at Wallyworld....

We setup the new trailer for the this week at work and then we head back to Bonners Ferry on Sunday to get fully moved in and get the mobile home ready for sale. Need to get rid of a few more bills, like internet and Netflix home delivery and take care of a lot of stuff.

We get a weak, but usable, internet connection from the parking lot but since we go to Mickey D's every morning for coffee no sense paying for surfing the web I just need to amplify the signal.

I plan on installing a couple of 12 volts outlets for the charger and maybe a crockpot, we'll see. Also, I need a wifi Antenna, bridge,  and router set up for a better internet connection.

Also, have a charger set up for the laptop and Ipad in the truck. Then I'll fire up the generator if we want to watch TV or a movie. Nice that Walmart has a Redbox less than a block away.

And it would appear that the batteries and tanks are holding up so no worry over hitching up and emptying them right away.

The only bad thing is that I lost my old buddy, Simon, who disappeared, a couple of nights ago. Put him outside and he was gone in the morning. Had him for 12 years doesn't feel right without him.

I'll only post a few times a week until I work out my internet connection.
